Quick action by the Conservative-run County Council has introduced a county-wide boost to bus services to enable schoolchildren and essential workers to travel safely. A network of 70 additional school only journeys has ensured social distancing can be guaranteed on bus journeys by other passengers.
Hitchin South County Councillor Derrick Ashley said, "As soon as we were made aware that schools were going to reopen we leapt into action to ensure sufficient services were available to cater for school journeys as well as for other essential users. These additional services will remain in place until the pandemic passes."
