District & Town Councillor for Harpenden South
About David
David is a Yorkshire man but has lived in Harpenden for over 30 years and has represented Harpenden South since 2011 as a District Councillor and as a Town Councillor since 2016. He served as Town Mayor in 2018/2019.
“Harpenden a very special place, as demonstrated by the community’s recent response to the pandemic around food parcels and befriending with Harpenden Cares and the volunteer movement behind the vaccination programme” says David.
“I have had a family business in St Albans for over 40 years, so I do understand the problems faced by small businesses trying to survive but even more so now after these long lockdowns. I will do all I can to help promote and sustain the vitality of the High Street and Southdown.
I will use my position on the District Council to stand up for Harpenden and ensure that resident’s views are heard especially in relation to development and planning enforcement. It is important that we have a Town and environment that is sustainable and in tune with modern needs whilst at the same time protecting the unique character and culture that so many people love and which we are all fortunate to live in.”
